Mazu yurete          begin stirring
Tsugi tsugi ni          one after the other
Me ni yurete          they stir in the eye

Yurekururu monono          They stir as they approach
Kazenari to omou          and without realizing
Mamonashi          it is the wind
Ware itoito          I, too, begin gradually
Yure harimenu          to stir.

Kaze fukeba kaze          The wind blows, blows
Fukugamama          where it will
Warewa tada          I simply stir and
Yurareyururetsu          sway
Yuraretsu sono kaze o          The wind, in turn
Mata                             as it stirs
Waga ushiro harukani okuru          passes far behind me.

Fuku kaze ni          Objects sway in the
Yuresoyogo mono          blowing wind
Me ni michite          Filling the eye
Kakeru tori          A soaring bird
Tada ichi wa          - a single bird -
Ko o egakedo          describes an arc
Yureyurete          Stirring and swaying
Mada sora no uchi          Yet within the sky
Fuku kaze no michi ni          in the path of the blowing wind
Odoroki yamanu          are things of infinite
Mono ari                            surprise.
Hikari, mata kuramite          Light, again becomes darkness
Orifushi tsuyoyo          at times forcefully -
Hanani tsukoko          at once forcefully.

Subete aki, ima wa aki          All is autumn...autumn is now.

Kageyakedo                   There will be light
